If you're updating from v5.3.0, check the Customization > Styling and Front-end Settings > URL Rewriting option. It must be turned OFF, otherwise, your front-end would not be functional. If you have installed the URL Rewriting components, you can leave it to "Turn ON".
There are some new language strings added in the new version. They will be added to all your language profiles, so you can translate them at any moment.
If you haven't done any changes to the default English translation, we recommend you to reset it. Follow these steps to do that:

Go to the Administration > Interface Languages.
Click the "Edit" button for default English language (you can find the default language easily - it can't be deleted, so the "Delete" button is deactivated).
Click the topmost "Restore to Default" button in the window header.
Click "Save&Close".
Press Ctrl-F5 to reload the application.

If you have a translation to any language, please share it with everyone. You can do that by simply clicking the "Send to WSS" button in Administration > Interface Languages. We will publish it in our knowledge base for free download.
Updater should apply changes to your custom themes automatically. Please check the front-end pages thoroughly though, especially registration and login pages.
