Access Permissions to All Functions for User Groups Are Now Better Described and Grouped
We have regrouped permissions that manage access to miscellaneous functions and modules of Knowledgebase Manager Pro. They are now distributed among pages like "Content", "Feedback", "Statistics", "Administration", etc. according to the functions they allow or deny. You can click on a vertical tab to see permissions related to a certain group of functions.
If you click on the "All" tab, it shows all permissions on a single page.
By clicking on "Set All" and "Clear All" links, you can set or remove all permissions on current page.
Each permission has short description that states what this permission does exactly. If it requires more elaboration, you can see a clickable question mark that opens a help topic for this permission that gives all details on it. In some cases, it also has a link to a knowledge base article with more information about usage of this permission.
Ability to Add User CSS Styles in Separate Entry
There had been a single entry for CSS styles in front-end templates until this version. Some people may find that editing all styles on a single page is not convenient in terms of loading of a large page with styles, and identifying of custom changes. We have added an additional section for user custom styles, so it is now easy not only to add styles, but also to find out what has been changed.
Sitemap Generation
Knowledgebase Manager Pro now generates a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask.com, and others to better index your knowledge base. With such a sitemap, it’s much easier for the crawlers to see the complete structure of your site and retrieve it more efficiently. Additionally it notifies all major search engines every time you create an article about the new content or on a certain schedule, if you have enabled these options.
It also reports when the last sitemap has been built and if each search engine has been successfully notified. You can launch sitemap rebuild manually at any moment.
Option to Autoapprove Staff Comments
It has been always possible to enable comments pre-moderation in Knowledgebase Manager Pro, so that when someone post a comment, a moderator must approve it before it becomes visible for everyone else.
Since the last update that created two kinds of users – Staff and Clients – it may be necessary to enable pre-moderation for Clients, but publish Staff comments immediately upon posting. So this option has been added in Knowledgebase Manager Pro v5.3.1.
