This article describes how you can create a category with articles that will be visible by everyone (by both logged-in and not logged-in users) and can be edited by certain groups.
Make all articles in given category public with help of group "Edit" action.
Make this category restricted to certain groups. Users that belong to these groups will be able to edit this category and articles in it.
When you click "Save & Close" you get a confirmation window. Set checkbox fir "all subcategories" and select "Replace groups".
That's all! Next time you login as a user of a group that doesn't have permission to this category (for example "Group C", or "Group D"), you see that he can't edit or delete this category and articles in it.
Of course if you login as a user of "Group A" or "Group B" you have full access to this category and its articles.
Look carefully at the previous screenshot. You can see that article with ID AA-00404 is not published. It means that this article is not visible for users who are not logged-in to the knowledge base.
